A quick read on why it’s foolish to argue

Posted: November 3, 2014 in Thoughts on God

What’s wrong with an argument now and then? It’s in the Bible, Philippians 2:14, NIV. “Do everything without complaining or arguing.”

Don’t waste time on arguing unimportant points or unanswerable questions! It’s in the Bible, Titus 3:9, NIV. “Avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.”

Think before you start to argue. It’s in the Bible, Proverbs 15:28, TLB. “A good man thinks before he speaks; the evil man pours out his evil words without a thought.”

Use a quiet response to prevent arguments. It’s in the Bible, Proverbs 15:1, TLB. “A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words cause quarrels.”

Should I get involved in arguments between others? It’s in the Bible, Proverbs 26:17, NIV. “Like one who seizes a dog by the ears is a passer-by who meddles in a quarrel not his own.”
